The last 3 weeks have been pretty busy! We moved into our flat on Friday 15th May. I'm so glad Bas took the day off to help. The flat was swarming with unpackers. They ask you where each box is to go and then just start unpacking. The next thing you know you’re finding laptops in drawers, egg cups in clothes cupboards and DIY related equipment under the bed.
The upside of having about 10 people helping is that when it comes to unpacking the huge gas BBQ, they can assemble it for you. It took them 2.5 hours to put it together. If that had been me and Bas on our own, it would have taken a whole day and possibly ended in divorce.
Mr Laxman, the landlord and his long-toothed cousin were there pretty much there all day helping out. They treated us to a feast for lunch which we ate on the terrace, washed down with some beer. Made the rest of the day’s unpacking activities a little hazy.
