Safari

The television selection here isn’t fantastic, however we do have ‘Animal Planet’ channel, which is Bas’ favourite. We have watched every Big Cat Diary programme going, as well as programmes on snakes, colossal squids, meer cats...the list goes on. So when we found out that some of Bas’ colleagues were going on a weekend Safari, we signed ourselves up.
Bas got more and more excited as the week went on at the prospect of seeing a tiger.
We went to the Nagarhole National Park which is a 4 hour drive from Bangalore. (Picture of kiddies from a village we stopped in on the way).

We stayed in a lovely lodge with hammocks and armchairs overlooking a lake. We went on a water safari on the Saturday afternoon, the highlights were the elephants, kingfishers and wild boar.

No Tiger.
The Saturday evening we all played a booze fuelled game of Pictionary.
The Sunday morning – 6am was the Jeep Sarafi.

No Tiger. Maybe next time. More elephants, wild boar, deer, bison, monkeys. Our jeep was charged by a young grumpy male elephant. Close shave.
